During that appointment, we will discuss your hair goals, desired length and fullness, current hair type and density, maintenance needs, and the extension method best suited to your lifestyle.   • HAND TIED EXTENSIONS

    Hand tied extensions are a great option for guests looking to add fullness, length, or a more noticeable overall transformation. This method uses rows of extension hair to create a seamless, blended result with soft movement and customizable density.

    Hand tied extensions are especially well suited for guests who want a fuller look with flexibility in color blending and overall coverage. Because the placement and amount of hair can be tailored, this method works beautifully for a range of end results, from subtle volume to more dramatic length.

    Your artist will help determine whether hand tied extensions are the best fit based on your natural hair, desired result, and maintenance routine.

  • TAPE IN EXTENSIONS

    Tape in extensions are a lightweight, versatile option that can be used to add length, fullness, or dimension. They are especially great for guests looking for a flatter, more flexible method that blends naturally into the hair.

    This method can be ideal for adding volume through the sides and perimeter, creating a fuller overall shape, or achieving a length transformation with a relatively quick application process. Tape ins are also a great option for many guests with finer hair, depending on density and overall hair health.

    Your artist will recommend whether tape ins are the right fit based on your hair type, goals, and desired level of maintenance.

  • Keratin Tip EXTENSIONS

    Keratin tip extensions are applied strand by strand for the most customized and natural-looking result. This method offers incredible flexibility in placement, making it a beautiful option for guests who want highly detailed blending, natural movement, and a more tailored transformation.

    Because the hair is installed in smaller, individual sections, keratin tips can be especially effective for creating softness around the face, filling in specific areas, or achieving a seamless result with a wide range of hair types and goals.

    This method is often chosen for its versatility, longevity, and ability to create a very natural feel. Your artist will help determine whether keratin tips are the best fit for your hair and desired outcome.

HAIR EXTENSIONS FREQUENTY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Activities taking place in constant, damp environment such as aerobics, steam baths or saunas may lessen the longevity of your hair extension service. Precautions should be taken to avoid these conditions being repeated. Seawater and pools can cause bond breakdown due to constant damp environment; however a weeklong vacation will by no means affect the longevity of your extensions if care steps are followed. Avoid letting the hair extension bond stay wet for an extended period of time and always blow dry bond after activity in water. We recommend gently squeezing the bonds with a towel to remove excess moisture for the first week after application.

  • When booking the hair extension application appointment, you’ll be required to reserve your appointment slot with a 50% deposit. First time extension clients must put their deposit down in person and if paying with a card must also provide matching identification. Due to the length of extensions appointments (an average of 3-5 hours), this ensures that the service provider receives some compensation for the time blocked in the event of a last minute cancellation without notice. If you need to move the time of your extensions appointment, call the salon 72 hours prior to your scheduled service and your deposit will remain intact. Any time changes within 72 hours of your appointment will cause you to forgo your deposit. If and when you choose to reschedule the service, you will be responsible for placing another deposit.

  • With proper care and professional removal, there will be no damage to your natural hair. Please note that you must have these hair extensions removed by a trained professional. Any attempt to remove them by anyone other than a trained professional could result in damage, breakage and/or tearing of the hair. Some extension loss is normal and to be expected. Average client hair loss is 50-150 hairs per day. A full head application covers approximately one-third of the head. You can expect to see a small quantity of naturally released hairs trapped in the bonds after some time. This is normal and should not be interpreted as hairs pulled out of the scalp by the extensions themselves.

  • Not loving your new head of hair? HAUS Salon will remove the extensions at no charge within 2 weeks of the hair extension application. However, the costs of the haircut and hair extension application services are non-refundable. Hair extension removal services requested after the complimentary 2-week removal period will be provided at cost equivalent to service providers’ rate quoted in the initial consultation

  • In order to ensure your extensions are looking their best, we require all extensions to be custom trimmed by a stylist. The cost of this haircut is based on your chosen service provider’s hourly rate, and will depend upon how much time is determined necessary by them. On average, this appointment takes about 30 minutes. Our staff will help you book this when scheduling the extension application appointment. The cost of the haircut will be quoted into the cost of the hair extension service.

  • Extension longevity can vary by person. Extension reapplication is recommended every 3-4 months for Great Lengths or Capelli Extensions and every 6-10 weeks for EasiHair Extensions. Your extensions will last the longest if all maintenance steps are followed.

  • NO wet hair for 2 full days after extension application! After the 2 days, wash your hair with your head back and handle bonds with care. Shampoo and condition hair daily with non-sulfate shampoo and conditioner recommended by your HAUS stylist or colorist. Condition hair only on midshaft to ends, keeping conditioner OFF bonds. Gently comb with a wide-toothed comb while holding hands firmly on the attachment at the scalp. Never dry with a scrubbing action, instead wrap with a towel to absorb water. Always dry bonds to prevent breakdown.

  • When blow drying your new hair, separate the extensions and use fingers to comb through until mostly dry. Wait until hair is 90% dry before styling with brushes. We recommend using a wide tooth comb or Wetbrush, as these are easier to work through the hair. Daily brushing with a Wetbrush or Mason Pearson close to the scalp and finger separation of the applied bonds will avoid matting in this area. Never apply conditioner or oils directly to the scalp and bonds. In general, avoid using oily or heavy moisturizing products. Curling irons, flat irons and hot rollers may be used, but must be kept at an adequate distance from the hair extension bonds. We suggest a light heat protectant, applied to mids and ends of the hair, to shield the extensions from any styling damage. Before going to bed, gently brush hair thoroughly from scalp to ends. At night, we recommend loosely braiding hair and securing it with a non-metallic hair tie. Bonus points if you sleep on a silk pillowcase!
