incredible Mizani stylist and educator @styledbyreece and her awesome assistant @curlsfothegirls provided us with an amazing day full of education and dialogue around textured hair. stylists and colorists will be offering natural hair services very soon. in the meantime We'll let the photos tell the rest of the story. Enjoy!

Reece did a speedy twist set on Teal. She shampooed, did a deep conditioning treatment and blew her hair out straight. She then added a ton of foam to reform her elongated curl and set it in flat two strand twists. Following that she picked it out for a gorgeous head of curls!

Team USA!

We are living for all of the athletic magic happening in Rio right now. Also, who doesn't love a good theme? Are you throwing a closing ceremony party? Or in need of some bronze, silver or gold inspiration? Look no further. Here are our fave medal-themed looks darling.

Gold

We're fans of Glossier's approach: Skincare first, makeup second. Their recent release of makeup cult-trend highlighter haloscope is the perfect way to achieve a dewy shimmer. Get your shine on here.

Silver

We'd like to think you'll leave your cut and color to us but we're total advocates of DIY manicures. Wraps are super simple-plus no waiting for them to dry! Find nail wraps here.

Bronze

We know there is A LOT of summer left (we can dream, right?), but if you're starting your Autumn mood board look no further for hair color inspo. As you can tell, our color team is a fan of bronzey brunettes. Click on the images below to visit artist pages. xo

RELAX

This past weekend's weather has me frantically shoving all of my giant sweaters out of sight, opening my windows and letting the new air in. HELLLLLO SPRING! Let's discuss wardrobe my dears.

Off the shoulders

The season caters to, dare I say it, the lazy fashion mavens of the world. I'm not mad at it. Please don't make me wear anything body-con..ever..again. I'm loving off the shoulder tops and dresses with a bare neck or delicate choker.

Long live the Chino! Sneakers, loafers, t-shirt, button-down, do what you want with them. They'll remain faithful to whatever mood you're in.

Wear these with anything and everything. The color variations are almost endless but I'm biased to a clean white pair.

Feeling calm, cool and collected about your SS'16 wardrobe? You're welcome.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE AFTER PARTY

By now everyone has done enough poring over Oscar night fashion and beauty so let's skip to the fun part. Vanity Fair's after party is where we get to see what stars really have fun wearing. Here are my faves...

You guys, J Law ISN'T WEARING DIOR! I know. Loving this Alexander Wang two piece and her updated crop (typically cut and colored by Riawna Capri and styled by Jenny Cho).

Kerry Washington cannot and will not fail on the red carpet. She owns it in this Atelier Versace and had no fear of taking the plunge in both the front and back.

I mean it's Jon Hamm wearing a navy houndstooth tux by Brioni. Do I really need to explain myself? Also let's continue with Mark Seliger's amazing portraits please.

Sofia's award show dress was not her usual mermaid style and sometimes change is scary so thank you for bringing us all back down to earth with this stunning white Mark Zunino number. Ok fine the Marchesa was gorgeous too.

Check out more of Mark's portraits here or on Vanity Fair's Instagram

REMODELING THE HAUS

How do we celebrate our 5 year anniversary at HAUS Salon? With a makeover, of course! We love our original salon’s design...and we’re ready to make it even better for you. The South Minneapolis salon will close February 22nd through February 27th for a remodel, done by the original designer the incredible Jonathan Gomez Whitney. Jonathan was not only the designer behind the original HAUS Salon, but also Blowdry! Blowdry Bar and HAUS Salon North Loop, too. We clearly love his work.

Stop by in March to be among the first to see our fresh, new HAUS!

Take a stroll down memory lane with us...and check out the "before" photos. Still beautiful. We're thinking of the remodel as simply HAUS Salon South Mpls 2.0.

HAUS SALON PARTNERS WITH THE AMERICAN REFUGEE COMMITTEE

We are honored to announce that HAUS is partnering with The American Refugee Committee (ARC) in the Nu Po Refugee Camp in Thailand. We've started a GoFundMe page to help gather funds for this worthy cause.

Domestic violence is a universal issue and as hairdressers we create a safe place for people to open up about their experiences with it. The ARC serves to train hairdressers living and working in the Nu Po camp to spot signs of domestic violence and to offer victims of domestic violence the resources they need to get help. With The ARC, HAUS is providing modern haircutting, styling and salon business training to our fellow hairdressers living in the Nu Po Refugee camp in Thailand.

The money we are raising will be a donation to the American Refugee Committee. A team from HAUS Salon will join ARC in Thailand in April 2016 to facilitate the workshop we've created together. In addition, ARC will use the funds to build the skills of Nu Po's hairdressers as they step up to fight domestic violence.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 by March 2016 for the American Refugee Committee. Will you help us spread the word and raise funds for this great cause? Thank you for taking the time to visit out Go Fund Me page to learn more about HAUS Salon's partnership with The American Refugee Committee.
